This notice covers vagtservices.com only — the public marketing website. It does not cover the employee, client, or admin portals, which are separate authenticated systems governed by your service agreement with VAGT.
What we collect
- Cookie consent choice. When you accept or decline our cookie banner, we store that choice (and the date) in your browser's local storage. This does not leave your device.
- Callback / audit requests. If you submit the "Request a callback" form or the contact form, we collect your name, phone number, and what you're enquiring about, so we can call you back.
- WhatsApp messages. If you message us via WhatsApp, we see your phone number and message — the same as any WhatsApp conversation.
- Basic site analytics (only if you accept cookies). If you accept the cookie banner, we may use Firebase Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how. This is not yet active on the site — activation is a separate step and will still only run after you accept.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not load any analytics or advertising script before you accept the cookie banner.
- Declining cookies does not block or degrade any part of the website — every page, form, and link works exactly the same either way.
Why we collect it
We collect callback and contact details for one reason: to respond to your enquiry. We use (optional, consent-gated) analytics to understand which pages and services visitors care about, so we can improve the site — not to build advertising profiles.
Retention
Callback and contact enquiries are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and maintain a record of the enquiry, then archived or deleted. Your cookie consent choice stays in your browser until you clear your browser data or change your choice via "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time. You can also change your cookie choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page.
